Leipzig Book Fair 2023

Presentation of DNK sector guide for publishers

Sustainability has also become a central topic in the publishing industry. Future-oriented action is one of the supporting pillars here. But so is transparent, structured and continuous documentation. The German Sustainability Code provides the appropriate guidelines for this.

On 27 April 2023, a first insight into the work of the twelve-member project group will be provided on the occasion of the Leipzig Book Fair (Hall 5, Conference Room, 1 pm). Under the motto "Sustainability! Freedom for Generations", Martina Stemann from the Börsenverein, Katja Meinecke-Meurer from Tessloff Verlag and Olaf Deconinck as part of the Publisher Consultants will present the guidelines in a panel.

The project group also includes publishers such as Tessloff Verlag, Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe, Bonnier Books and C.H.Beck. In addition to the industry software provider Klopotek & Partner, the Stuttgart Media University, the paper manufacturer LEIPA, the printing service provider CPI and the cultural department stores' Dussmann are also involved as representatives of the book trade.

Here, LEIPA was able to contribute the knowledge and experience of over 175 years of paper production and set important impulses with regard to the sensible use of contemporary recycled paper.
