UX in internal processes: Mobile SAP Fiori Apps for the LEIPA Group
Innovation is at the top of the LEIPA Group agenda. In order to live up to its own high standards internally, the company, with a history of over 170 years, has now brought two SAP experts on board: Tieto and Consulting Talents.
The goal: to optimize the procurement process for waste paper - from purchasing, incoming goods inspection and storage to the loading of the conveyor belts. A concept was jointly developed based on extensive knowledge of the paper and packaging industry. An important part of the concept was the "clickable" prototype produced by Tieto.
Customized SAP UI5 applications thanks to user feedback
The advantage of this "clickable" prototype was that valuable feedback from users could be obtained and incorporated into the concept after a very short time.
The result: tailor-made SAP UI5 applications for quality and complaints inspection as well as for the storage, removal and relocation of waste paper. The technical basis for the Fiori apps is the product 'Mobile Framework' (MFW) from INFORMATICS.
Tieto's mobile logistics and QM solution and the purchasing applications from Consulting Talents will replace two sub-systems. This means that in the future almost the entire LEIPA Group process will be integrated into SAP ECC.
From pure user interface (UI) to user experience (UX)
The LEIPA Group is at the forefront not only in terms of environmentally-considerate production. From the end of March, LEIPA will start using the SAP Fiori apps, which use simple and intuitive user interfaces to keep internal training costs low and make daily processes more efficient for employees.
