LEIPA supports "ICOON for Refugees": 50,000 books for Ukraine

ICOON is a picture dictionary for all the world’s languages and helps refugees communicate. A simple book with 1,200 symbols and photos can overcome any language barrier. It uses pictures when words fail. One finger-point on one of the symbols, pictograms or photos in 12 different categories is sufficient to make oneself understood. The book was created in cooperation with the Red Cross. The corresponding android app is available for free.

The aid project ICOON for refuges was initiated in 2015 by designer Gosia Warrink. In 2022, a special edition of 50,000 books was created for Ukraine – adapted to the new needs.
